Millinery Workshops with Award Winning Milliner Suzie Mahony

My School of Millinery is all about sharing my millinery techniques with budding milliners and ceative minds who have an interest in hats or creating things.  Learning in my workshop environment with all my own blocks and tools shows you first hand how my hats and designs are created.
Conditions:  Should the dates below be unsuitable please contact Suzie to accommodate your special requests.  A minimum of 2 participants required for each workshop.  The dates are flexible and can be altered with reasonable notice by Suzie.  All materials required are supplied by Suzie.  Deposits are non refundable but your booking is transferrable with 5 working days notice. Should you cancel the course without the 5 working days notice the full cost is still payable and your place is not transferable.  Courses run 10 - 5 each day.

Felt for Beginners  €220/student,   Dates: (email interest to

Create you own hand blocked felt button, cloche style or small percher hat and get your first introduction to working with felt. During this workshop you will learn how to create you own felt hat from start to finish. Learning how to work with Felt through blocking, pining, steaming, moulding, wiring and trimming. You will complete your hat trimmed in your own style.

Feather Manipulation      €220/Student    (Email interest to

Knowing how to manipulate feathers in different ways is a key part of learning Millinery.  This whole day is devoted to teaching you all the various techniques in cutting, curling, striping, twisting, trimming and much more that than be achieved with feathers.  You will create your own feather mount which you can use to trim or add detail to a hat, headpiece or fascinator.  Working with feathers correctly is really important and I cannot stress enough that an elegant feather or trim can make a hat for a special occasion.
